Survey shows continued long-term growth for aerosol products

The Consumer Specialty Products Association releases the results of its 2012 Aerosol Pressurized Products Survey, which serves as an annual indicator of the business strength of the aerosol products industry. For a third consecutive year, U.S. aerosol product production increased setting a new record high with more than 3.8 billion total units filled. The addition of 33 million more units filled – a 0.9% increase over the previous year – contributed to setting a new high mark for aerosol production in the United States. This year marks the 62nd year CSPA has conducted and released the results of this survey. Survey data were collected and verified by the independent firm, Association Research, Inc.

Recloseable packaging and microwaveable plastic trays were named top packaging breakthroughs that most impacted peoples’ lives over the last 25 years in an on-line survey hosted by DuPont. Together the two categories of invention captured 48% of the votes. The online survey was available to industry professionals from April 9 through May 10, 2013.

Mars Chocolate North America will debut an expanded collection of American Heritage Chocolate products—now including four different formats—available in colonial-inspired, commemorative packaging. The debut will take place at “A Celebration of Chocolate on the Bay,” an event hosted by the San Diego Maritime Museum being held this weekend. American Heritage Chocolate is an authentic historic line of products—based on a recipe from the 1750s—that celebrates chocolate’s important role in the lives of Americans during the 18th century.
