The 24th annual National Post-Consumer Plastics Bottle Recycling Report marks the twenty-fourth consecutive year that Americans have increased the pounds of plastic bottles returned for recycling.
Since 2011, Novelis has invested approximately $500 million to expand its recycling network, doubling its recycling capacity to 2.1 million metric tons per year and raising its recycled content from 30% to 46%.

To get more students recycling, PepsiCo announced it is now opening its popular K-12 school Recycle Rally program to schools across the U.S. The program is one of the ways PepsiCo is working to increase recycling to help drive the U.S. beverage container recycling rate to 50% by 2018.
Recent efforts in California, Chicago and New York to ban EPS products such as packing peanuts and foodservice items are being challenged by environmentalists and industry experts who argue that the bans will do more harm than good.
