A surge in demand for canned foods during the COVID-19 pandemic has led metal container manufacturers to speed up production to keep pace. For example, Silgan’s record Q1 earnings are in part because of the jump in demand, and Crown’s website lists 81 open jobs at its 25 U.S. plants.
Crown Holdings Inc. has signed a 15-year Virtual Power Purchase Agreement to use wind power in all of its U.S. and Canadian beverage can plants starting July 1, 2020.
The Association has been renamed the International Metal Decorating and Packaging Association (IMDPA) and has expanded its scope to include can manufacturing and metal packaging into its mission of bringing the latest technology and information to the membership.
