The PMMI Foundation and Garvey Corporation have selected Rutgers University as the recipient of this year’s Mark C. Garvey Scholarship in the amount of $5,000. PMMI continues to support packaging education at U.S. colleges, universities and technical schools through the PMMI Foundation.
The PMMI Foundation, a part of PMMI, has announced the winners of three $5,000 scholarships to students studying food and beverage processing, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering at four-year PMMI education partners.
The first-place winner of the 2018 Glass Packaging Design Competition at Michigan State University's School of Packaging is a student team with a premium 1-liter glass bottle design for Hot Shot Cinnamon Whiskey.
Kristin Werner, a student at Hennepin Technical College in Minneapolis, Minn., has been named recipient of the 2018 Richard C. Ryan Packaging Education Scholarship, funded by Dorner.
In 2017, PMMI awarded more than $140,000 in scholarships to support the development of a skilled workforce capable of moving the packaging and processing industry forward.
The PMMI Foundation is proud to announce the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as the recipient of the Future Leaders in Packaging Scholarship. The $5,000 Scholarship, awarded each year to an educational institution that prepares students for careers in packaging, will be divided among two or three students selected by the school based on a combination of academic excellence and financial need.
Tom Wetsch, chief innovation officer at Pregis LLC, has been invited to join the Michigan State University (MSU) School of Packaging Industry Advisory Board. The objective is to share knowledge with the university to help educators prepare students for their transition to the corporate world.
