Evergreen Packaging announces the launch of the fall 2013 Made By Milk Carton Construction Contest, themed "Transportation." Schools across the United States can win up to $5,000 by having classroom teams design and construct creations made from empty school milk cartons, which students save from their school lunches. The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2013.

Vita Coco, the best-selling coconut water brand in the U.S., is looking to change that trend with the launch of a line extension, Vita Coco Kids. The brand tapped Moxie TM Inc., the New York-based brand design and development firm, who saw this as an opportunity to bring a completely different energy and style into the category.
Boxed Water is Better, the sustainable boxed water company, announces the company has opened a new bottling and distribution center in Holland, MI. The new 11,000 square foot building is nearly seven times larger than the facility it leaves behind.
Canadian food manufacturer Lassonde Specialties is making the move to carton packs from SIG Combibloc. From now on, the company’s Canton brand fondue bouillons, traditional canned classics, will be offered exclusively in carton packs. The ready-to-serve bouillons in combiblocStandard 1,100 ml come in Beef/Onion, Original, Oriental Delight, Red Wine and Thai varieties. To make them easy to open, the carton packs feature a V perforation. Further products are set to follow.

In response to the increasing and widespread demand for carton recycling access in communities large and small, the Carton Council of North America has unveiled a new website, CartonOpportunities.org, designed to provide comprehensive information on the opportunities created for recycling professionals, elected officials and the entire packaging supply chain through carton recycling. The site also supplements an existing and popular website, RecycleCartons.com, which is focused on educating consumers.
