Smurfit Kappa Group has appointed Eduardo Rubio as the new CEO for Smurfit Kappa North America (SKNA). He will begin his responsibilities on October 1, 2019 and will be based in Dallas, Texas.

Rubio is a Chartered Accountant, with an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology. Before his current position as Vice President for the SKNA Mexican Corrugated operations, Rubio was director of finance for the Packaging Group, general manager for the Tijuana Box Plant and regional General manager of the Baja California area with the incorporation of the Mexicali Sheet Plant to his responsibilities. He joined the company in 2010.

The SKNA operations include 13 corrugated operations and 1 folding carton plant both in the USA and Northern Mexico, a paper mill in Forney (Texas), and several recycling facilities. SKNA is also a leading producer of honeycomb with 3 plants in Northern Mexico and also four packaging solutions plants. The operation also includes the regional Experience Center in Dallas and a sales office in Chicago.
