At PACK EXPO International in Chicago this October, Sun Chemical will highlight a new portfolio of eco-friendly inks and coatings, a new UV ink system for primary and secondary food packaging that is not manufactured with BPA-based materials, a UV offset ink system developed to make sophisticated graphics look vibrant on high-end luxury folding cartons and more.
Visitors of booth #8856 will learn about Sun Chemical’s SunCure Accuflex UV, a new UV ink system for primary and secondary food packaging that is not manufactured with Bisphenol A (BPA)-based materials and meets low migration specifications. The flexo inks meet the latest photoinitiator-safe packaging guidelines, and provide low odor and low residual extractables characteristics.
Also on display will be SunCure Aspire UV, a new UV offset ink system developed to make sophisticated graphics look vibrant on high-end luxury folding cartons while providing long-term shelf appeal. Formulated to exhibit immense color transparency to create vivid graphic effects on metallized, lenticular and holographic board stocks, Aspire UV is perfect for pharmaceutical, perfume, liquor, cosmetic and POP applications.
Sun Chemical’s newest UV and EB inks will be the focus of the “Simplifying the Use of Inks and Coatings for Safe Packaging Applications” presentation, which will take place Tuesday, October 16 at 11 a.m. at the show’s Innovation Stage.
A new portfolio of eco-friendly inks and coatings will be featured as well, formulated with significantly higher levels of biorenewable resin content compared to other previous market offerings. SunSpectro SolvaGreen flexographic and gravure solvent-based inks feature naturally derived resins and additives and are meant for surface printing on biodegradable films.
SunVisto AquaGreen water-based inks are formulated with high levels of biorenewable sourced resins and deliver the required critical performance attributes needed across a range of paper packaging applications.
Sun Chemical will also highlight its SunBar (Aerobloc) oxygen barrier coatings. In addition to extending product shelf life, SunBar (Aerobloc) barrier coatings enable the lightweighting of packaging by removing polymer layers from packaging, as well as offering improved laminate flexibility.
Booth visitors can also learn about SunColorBox, a toolkit that comprises a comprehensive set of applications and services aimed at supporting converters to produce consistent brand colors, anywhere in the world, within a fully integrated and optimized digital process, from design to press.
