HelloFresh, a global leader in meal kit delivery, has teamed up with Cascades Inc. to provide sustainable packaging with the northbox insulated container. HelloFresh is the first meal kit service in the U.S. to utilize this box model, which will help keep food insulated for optimal freshness in transit and take the guesswork out of recycling for customers. Initially, the new packaging will be rolled out to a significant share of HelloFresh’s customers nationwide from distribution centers in New Jersey, Texas and California. The new packaging speaks to HelloFresh’s commitment to increase sustainability.
The northbox container is America’s first paper-based insulation designed for easy end-of-life recycling. Both the corrugated box and insulation are made with 100 percent recycled paperboard, mostly FSC-certified by the Rainforest Alliance. Its insulating technology has been tested under rigorous international standards.
“Our breakthrough insulated box was created to bring more sustainability to the meal kit market, without compromising on thermal performance,” said Luc Langevin, president and CEO of Cascades Specialty Products Group. “We’re thrilled to partner with a forward-looking company that shares a similar environmental consciousness.” www.thenorthbox.com
