 Detroit Bold Coffee Co., formerly AJ’s CoffeeWorks, was started by AJ O’Neil, chief bean officer. O’Neil has a passion for music, his city and, of course, coffee. After O’Neil closed the doors on his legendary AJ’s Music Café, he began selling the coffee that got people going every day, in effort to do his part to restore Detroit’s spirit and economy (several of the blends’ proceeds and regularly held fundraisers directly aid community projects). The smooth, locally roasted coffee comes in four standard flavors, as well as holiday and special varieties, available in ground and whole bean.
