Smithfield, one of the world’s largest pork producers, wanted to introduce new flavors to its spiral ham line, while also increasing the quality perception of the product line.
Design North aimed to up the appetite appeal by creating a label with deep, rich browns as a backdrop for the flavor-cue photography. The color-coded metalized mylar features a spiral pattern, echoing the script of the "Spirals" sub-brand and making it easy to identify the spiral-cut varieties in a cooler full of hams.
The agency has extended the look to various cuts, flavors and seasonal varieties.
