Fun With Barcodes
Working on a social networking program for your brand? There’s Twitter and Facebook, of course, but don’t overlook the basic barcode. Stickybits is a startup with an application that lets iPhone and Google Android users upload content-videos, photos, text or even audio-to any consumer product barcode. The geographic location of the originating content is marked and becomes part of the product’s Stickybits stream. When someone else scans that same barcode, they’ll see what others have “attached” to it and where they’re located. And it begins what the creators call “threaded conversations” around physical objects. (www.stickybits.com)
