Burger King is introducing the industry’s first 100 percent post-consumer recycled bag this month. Part of the company’s U.S. Kids Meal packaging, the bags raise the bar for the sector, which is said to use, at best, about 30 percent recycled material for bags. Burger King’s Kids Meal cups are also turning green, going to 10 percent post-consumer recycled material. The new BK packaging translates its environmental bent with on-pack communication geared to kids, including tips like “Turn off the lights, TV and computer when not in use” to help them positively impact the environment.
