The Healthcare Compliance Packaging Council, a non-profit trade association whose mission is to improve patient adherence and supply chain safety through proper packaging, is pleased to welcome Child Related Research to its member roster. Child Related Research Inc. (CRR) has established itself as a worldwide leader in the evaluation and protocol testing of child-resistant and senior friendly packages for over 47 years.
When the Consumer Product Safety Commission established its testing protocols in the early 1970s, CRR began testing child-resistant packaging for some of the biggest names in the pharmaceutical, household chemical and contract packaging industries. Over the years governmental agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have looked to CRR for advice and assistance in resolving critical health and safety testing issues.
CRR provides quick turnaround and accurate test results of child-resistance through each step of the packages development. According to Paul Green, senior vice president of Child Resistant Research, “The balance between packaging safety and marketability is the art of protocol evaluation that CRR has fine-tuned over the past 47 years.”
To ensure timely completion, CRR operates three testing sites, which includes Utah, Southern California and Washington where the company has established long-term relationships with day-care centers, preschools and senior community centers to facilitate the testing process.
CRR is accredited to U.S. CPSC Protocol 16 CFR Part 1700, International Standard EN ISO 8317:2015, British Standards BS EN 862;2016 and BS EN 14375:2016, Canadian Standards Z76.1 and Z76.2, EPA Risk Mitigation Decision for Ten Rodenticides, OPP Designations 1.228 and 1.229, and Australian Standards AS 1928 and AS 4710.
