Pabst Brewing Co. is to handle national distribution to US craft brewer Dog Tag Brewing's flagship brand as the companies sign a new partnership.
Pabst, which helped drive the success of Small Town Brewery's Not Your Father's Root Beer when it started distributing the hard soda brand last year, will take Dog Tag's Legacy Lager to 26 U.S. states. Legacy Lager will be available across the country in 2017.
The 5% abv Legacy Lager is brewed with magnum and saaz hops and will be available in four-pack 16 oz. cans. Dog Tag donates 100% of its after-tax profits to charities created or selected by families who lost relatives in the Iraq war. The company uses can printing technology to dedicate each can within a four-pack to a different soldier.
Eugene Kashper, CEO of Pabst Brewing, says: "We are really excited to partner with [Dog Tag founder and former U.S. soldier] Seth Jordan and Dog Tag. Seth's passion for remembering, honouring, and celebrating our nation's heroes is inspiring."
Pabst has recently signed a distribution partnership with Ireland's C&C Group. The deal, first announced earlier this year, follows a 2015 agreement that saw Pabst take the distribution rights to C&C's cider brands in the U.S. C&C had previously handled its U.S. operations in-house.
