Florida Governor Rick Scott continued his two-week “Jobs for the Next Generation” tour on July 30 with a stop at TimBar Packaging & Display’s (timbar.com) Miami Division.
In the past 6 months, $7 million has been invested in new equipment to manufacture corrugated packaging and improve production efficiencies at this facility. The project began in December with a new single facer for the facility’s corrugator. This installation enables the plant to improve run speeds and the quality of the double-wall board it produces. It also reduces waste, machine downtime and utility usage. Double-wall corrugated is used heavily within the produce and agriculture marketplace, in which, the company has a strong presence.
This month the facility completed installation of a new Bobst 8.20 Expert Flexo Folder Gluer. This best in class machine delivers consistent quality at high speeds and is built to ensure fast set up times. The productivity of this machine has replaced 3 older pieces of equipment previously run at the facility providing utility savings and a reduction in overall machine maintenance costs. One of those machines, a 2 color flexo folder gluer with die cutter, has been transferred to the company’s Tampa facility.
“We are investing capital into our operations to improve our customers’ experience in every way”, stated Matthew Heleva, president/CEO. He added, “Streamlining our manufacturing processes and investing in new equipment enables us to deliver our customers high quality products faster.”
