Domino (domino-printing.com) has announced three new additions to its range of CIJ (continuous ink jet) black inks. These inks are compatible with the company’s world-leading A-Series printers and have been developed specifically to meet the requirements of a variety of industries ranging from food to aerospace.
The first of these, the 2BK026 black ink, has been developed for the A420i and is targeted primarily at the food sector where a heat seal application is required. This new ink provides excellent adhesive properties to a wide range of substrates, while its resistance to heat and pressure make it suitable for use on surfaces where heat sealing is applied post coding, such as sachets and dry food packaging.
The 2BK030 is also a fast dry black ink designed specifically for food applications. This ink has a high resistance to fats, edible oils, as well as heat and retort, in which high temperatures are required for steam sterilisation, therefore making it suited to challenging production environments.
Finally, the 2BK028 is a fast dry black ink designed for the aerospace industry. This ink, which is Boeing Approved, is adopted most notably for coded aircraft components that require proof of identity and traceability.
“Our aim was to develop a range of inks tailored to different applications that can effectively answer our customers’ needs,” explains Nick Plaister, Product Manager for CIJ at Domino. “We are constantly monitoring the demands of all the industries we operate in and for that reason we are confident the response to our new ink offering will be positive.”
