Accredo Packaging (www.accredopackaging.com) announces the introduction of its high-barrier packaging films, AccredoFlex™, designed for gas-flushing and vacuum packaging applications to preserve “first day freshness” and protect product integrity.
While barrier films aren't new to the packaging market, Accredo's state-of-the-art production facility is designed to produce AccredoFlex in a more sustainable production process than conventional plants, without sacrificing performance, thus providing an enhanced value which differentiates their barrier film offerings from others on the market. Accordingly, Accredo’s ‘Sustainability Portfolio’ provides a fresh approach in the industry, effectively distinguishing Accredo from their competitors!
The building of the company's LEED® Silver certified manufacturing facility was just the first step to delivering sustainable packaging solutions. Accredo utilizes 100% wind-generated electrical power, while focusing its operation on sustainability in manufacture practices, so as to embrace the company’s twin goals of lowering the environmental impact of flexible packaging and extruded film production, while producing competitively priced offerings.
“The technology we use supports efficient production while ensuring that we produce exceptional quality products,” states Chris Cometa, VP of technology. He adds, “Our 9-layer VAREX® blown film lines from Windmoeller & Hoelscher represent the latest in advanced blown film technology, giving us the ability to tackle our customers diverse needs for moisture, oxygen and other barrier protection, which can lengthen product shelf life.”
AccredoFlex barrier films are particularly well suited for packaging Cheese; Meat and Sausage products; Processed Meats; Institutional Packaging for pre-made or cooked foods; and, Pumped Products such as sauces, condiments, marinades.
