Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. (www.mpm.com), a family-owned manufacturer of technical/specialty and premium printing and packaging papers, was recently inducted into the New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR) Cornerstone Hall of Fame.
Monadnock Paper Mills, a prior winner of the NHBSR Cornerstone Award, was honored for reducing its impact on the environment and making a positive contribution to the surrounding community. NHBSR, a member-based non-profit organization that fosters socially and environmentally responsible businesses in New Hampshire, chose the name for the hall of fame based on the belief that corporate social responsibility should be the cornerstone of our economy and our society.
"Monadnock has a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable innovation,” says Monadnock Paper Mills chairman and CEO Richard Verney. “We are incredibly proud to join the Cornerstone Hall of Fame and to contribute to the economic development of New Hampshire.”
Monadnock Paper Mills was inducted into the hall of fame at NHBSR’s annual conference at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, New Hampshire. Michelle Hamm, environmental manager at Monadnock Paper Mills, accepted the honor from New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan. Monadnock also received a citation from the governor for its dedication to and promotion of corporate social responsibility among the greater business community of New Hampshire.
Also inducted into the NHBSR Cornerstone Hall of Fame was Hypertherm, Inc., a manufacturer of metal cutting products.
