Workplace safety is paramount for all manufacturing operations, and risk assessment is a key component of ensuring a good safety record.
“Not only is there a legal and moral obligation for companies to perform a thorough risk assessment to minimize safety hazards for their employees, but these plans are becoming essential in conducting business between end users and suppliers. Consumer packaged goods companies are increasingly asking to see risk assessment documentation and mitigation before entering into any contract with an OEM,” says PMMI (pmmi.org) technical director Fred Hayes.
As companies continue to focus attention on creating and maintaining a safe workplace, PMMI is dedicated to provide resources that help in this critical effort. PMMI’s newest eLearning course, Fundamentals of Risk Assessment, is an introduction to the risk assessment process and complements the interactive two-day Risk Assessment Workshops hosted by PMMI.
Fundamentals of Risk Assessment will introduce and provide an overview of risk assessment procedures. The eLearning module will serve as a supplement to, but not a replacement for, the two-day, in-person Risk Assessment Training workshops.
“The eLearning module is an important tool to quickly educate senior management and others about policies and procedures of risk assessment. It also serves as an introductory tool for students preparing to attend the 2-day workshop,” Hayes says.
