Hitachi America, Ltd. (www.hitachi-america.us) announced that it has sold its 100,000th Industrial Inkjet Printer (Continuous Inkjet Printer), a major milestone for the company. The printer was sold by Pak-Tec Inc. (www.pak-tec.com), a key Hitachi USA Distributer. The printer was purchased by an internationally known food company located in Virginia. The unit purchased was Hitachi’s RX-SD160W, which was manufactured at the Hitachi TAGA Works facility located in Hitachi City, Japan.

Hitachi’s Industrial Inkjet printers are known in the industry for reliability, ease-of-use and efficiency.  Hitachi’s industrial inkjet printers are widely used in food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. The machines are capable of printing on surfaces as hard as plastic bottles and as fragile as egg shells. Hitachi’s Industrial Inkjet Printer (Continuous Inkjet Printer) business was voted Category Leader for Coding/Marking in Packaging World magazine's 2012 Leadership in Packaging program. This is the second time in three years that Hitachi America, Ltd. has been honored as Coding/Marking category leader for excellence and leadership among packaging machinery, material and service suppliers.  The sale of the 100,000th machine is also a significant accomplishment, given that Hitachi has only been in the industrial inkjet printer business for the past 35 years.
