Boxed Water is Better®, the sustainable boxed water company, announces Michigan State University (MSU) has added its single-serve, boxed water product to its main campus offerings in East Lansing, MI. MSU selected Boxed Water because of the company’s focus on sustainability, environmental awareness and its distinct package design.
The Boxed Water container is more sustainable than plastic bottled water, with more than 75 percent of its packaging derived from renewable resources. The trees used to make Boxed Water come from certified, well-managed forests. These forests remain healthy and stable through ongoing replanting while removing CO2 from the atmosphere.
MSU students will now have the option to purchase Boxed Water at the Student Union and in three campus residence halls: Brody Hall, Case Hall and Hubbard Hall. The deal was coordinated through Boxed Water’s distributor, Canada Dry Bottling Co. Lansing.
“We have supplied Michigan State University with beverages for many years, and we are delighted to bring Boxed Water to campus, which will help MSU continue to accomplish their sustainability goals,” says Randall P. Shanker, president of Canada Dry Bottling Co. Lansing. “We thrive on exploring new products, like Boxed Water, and bringing those products to new markets.”
Boxed Water has experienced tremendous growth in existing markets while growing its domestic distribution into new regions in 2013. Boxed Water recently announced an exclusive contract water deal with C3 Presents, producers of premier music festivals such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Austin Food and Wine Festival, and many other national and international events.
“Michigan State is a great, new market for Boxed Water. They take environmental stewardship and innovative design very seriously, and that complements our company’s values,” says Benjamin Gott, founder of Boxed Water. “We are thrilled to keep the MSU student body hydrated with a new, sustainable water option.”
