This is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.3% to reach 6.3 billion pounds in 2013.

Of the different application segments into which the market is broken down, packaging has the largest share. Packaging used 3.4 billion pounds of materials in 2008 and an estimated 3.6 billion pounds in 2008. The segment should reach 4.5 billion pounds in 2013 for a CAGR of 4.6%.
