Seven companies earn sustainable packaging awards.

3M Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division (IATD) is pleased to recognize the seven winners of the 3M IATD Sustainable Packaging Award. This new award program was designed to acknowledge customers worldwide for their use of sustainable 3M IATD Packaging Tapes and Equipment.

“The purpose of this award program is for 3M IATD Packaging to publically acknowledge customers who are actively using 3M sustainable packaging products, which have been created to support waste reduction, reuse, recycling and environmental stewardship,” says Wei Moline, 3M IATD global business director, Packaging Business Unit.

The 2011 3M IATD Sustainable Packaging Award winners are:

The primary 2011 3M IATD Packaging products in this program include:
  • 3M™ Stretchable Tape Wrapper ST1000 used in conjunction with Scotch® Stretchable Tape 8886 (solventless adhesive) – Reduces pallet packaging waste by up to 95% over conventional film systems.

  • Scotch® Repulpable Box Sealing Tape 2622 – A 100% repulpable/recyclable tape.

  • Scotch® Box Sealing Tape 3073 – A tape with 10% bio-based content. (Bio-based content is determined using ASTM-D6866-10)
