Weber Packaging Solutions(www.weberpackaging.com), formerly Weber Marking Systems, founded in 1932 as a small addressing machine company, has achieved worldwide status as a manufacturer of labels and labeling systems as it approaches its 80th anniversary in July 2012.
“We’re proud to be a company with eight decades of experience in product identification and labeling,” says Glenn Gilly, Weber’s president and CEO. “But getting older doesn’t mean we’re getting stale. We continue to be a company that strives to remain fresh.”
Gilly pointed out that the company recently issued a new Mission Statement that reflects Weber’s commitment to future innovations and successes:
Our success comes from helping our customers grow.
Our commitment is to bring technologies to market that improve packaging
automation, product identification and brand recognition.
Our team is agile, creative, responsive and conscientious toward our
customers, our community and our environment.

Weber has pioneered the use of many methods of product identification over its 80-year history, including direct marking using hand printers; manual and electrical label printing machines; computer-based label printers and applicators that produce labels with text, bar codes, graphics and radio frequency identification (RFID) encoding and digital color label printing.
“In 2012, we will continue to innovate,” Gilly adds. “We will be introducing several new labeling systems, including label applicators with advanced servo motors for more precise control and an all-electric version of our label printer-applicator line.”
The privately-owned company, whose world headquarters is located in Arlington Heights, IL, has manufacturing and sales operations throughout North America, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and Australia.
