Dow names vice president of Performance Packaging unit
Glenn Wright becomes
business vice president, performance packaging.
The Dow Chemical Company announced that Glenn Wright, commercial vice president for North America Plastics, has been named business vice president, Performance Packaging, an $8 billion global business unit in the Company’s Performance Plastics Division.
Dow’s newly-created Performance Packaging business represents a shift away from an asset-based approach to a market/value chain orientation and is aligned with Dow’s strategy to transform the Performance Plastics franchise to focus on downstream, technology-differentiated solutions. Performance Packaging largely addresses the flexible food packaging market.
In his new role, Wright will drive increased market orientation and value chain focus around Dow’s participation in the global packaging market.
Prior to his last role as Commercial Vice President for NAA Plastics, Wright served as global business director for High Density and Low Density Polyethylene, North American Supply Chain director for Plastics, and has held numerous positions in sales and marketing in the plastics business. With more than 25 years of industry experience, Wright came to Dow in 2001 via the merger transaction with Union Carbide Corp. in 2001.
