Pomegranate juice marketer POM Wonderful is venturing into the food aisle with pomegranate snacks in plastic tubs. Fresh Pomegranate Arils (the aril is the seed covering that constitutes the edible part of a pomegranate) are packaged in a pair of stacked tubs, with resealable lids, unified with a paperboard sleeve. The sleeve features a window on the top surface, die-cut into the upper shape of a pomegranate (reprising the overall top image), that shows off the colorful arils. The semicircular side panel has a graphic of sherbet scoops garnished with pomegranate arils. The product will be displayed in the cut-fruit section of most grocery stores and has a suggested retail price of $4.99.
