Naked Juice, a bottler of natural fruit and vegetable juices, has bet on 100% recycled plastic in the sustainability sweepstakes. The Monrovia, Calif.-based company has announced that it will use 100% post-consumer recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for its 10-ounce, 15.2-ounce and 64-ounce juices and juice smoothies. This move is a follow-up to last year’s introduction of a 100% recycled bottle for 32-ounce Naked Juice products. The company estimates that the bottles, trade-named reNEWabottle, will reduce consumption of virgin plastic by 7.4 million pounds per year.
