A sausage snack is available in a “Gridiron Pack” tailor-made for tailgating or in-stadium consumption. The product, from Old Wisconsin Food, Sheboygan, Wis., comprises a wrapped tray of sausage pieces and a plastic tub of queso (Mexican cheese) sauce. These components are set inside a molded tray; the cavity for the sausage has a floor stamped to resemble a football field, with yard lines and numbers. The tray is wrapped in a folded-over paperboard carton. Graphics for the front panel of this carton include a near-life-size hand dipping a sausage piece in the cheese, and the words “No prep. Just grab & go.” The product debuted at the Sweets & Snacks Expo 2010 in Chicago.
