Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Harlingen has invested in a laser perforation unit to meet the growing demand for 100 percent food safe packaging.
Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Harlingen's new Starpack CW laser unit from Rofin, a laser scribing system, is developed for easy opening and ventilation of several types of packaging films. Features include: perforation from 200 microns; cutting release flaps; easy opening scribing / scoring; optimized for various materials including PE, BOPP, PET, BOPA and laminates.
Laser perforated holes are clean of residue and therefore eliminate the possibility of contamination of the food product inside the packaging.
"This is a very significant investment for Harlingen and our customers," says Jack van der Heiden, sales and marketing director at Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Harlingen. "Food safety is a top priority for Clondalkin and this investment gives our customers complete confidence in the safety of our packaging solutions. This recent investment together with our award winning flexo printing technology , FleXtreme®, means we can offer our frozen food customers the unique combination of high quality printed (up to 10 colors), laser perforated, 100 percent food safe films."
