The Dow Chemical Company has named Karen S. Carter as its new North America commercial vice president for Dow’s Packaging & Specialty Plastics (P&SP) business. She replaces Greg Jozwiak, who was recently named business president of Dow’s Elastomers and Electrical and Telecommunications businesses.
"Karen brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new position,” says Diego Donoso, business president for Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics. “Her strong and proven leadership will be a source of strength for her team and our customers.”
Carter leverages over 20 years of experience with Dow serving most of her years in the plastics industry. Most recently, she served as global business director, Low Density & Slurry Polyethylene, as well as global marketing director for the business’s value chain, sustainability and new business development initiatives for P&SP.
Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics is Dow’s largest business unit with annualized revenues of nearly $13 billion in 2014. One of the world’s largest polyethylene producers and the largest materials supplier to the plastic packaging industry, Dow is focused on driving margin expansion in high value growth markets like food packaging and personal hygiene that offer the greatest opportunity to maximize the value of Dow’s products and solutions.
“It is a privilege to lead our talented North America team who are dedicated to developing and delivering innovative solutions,” said Carter. “We are committed to driving opportunities that will help better serve our customers and the entire plastics industry.”
