Precision AirConvey, a manufacturer of trim and matrix removal systems, has appointed John Coates as its new chief operating officer. In the position, Coates will work to aggressively position the company for continued expansion and success in high growth markets.

Coates graduated from Clarkson University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. He previously held senior leadership roles in the petrochemical, medical, aerospace, precious metal and electrical industries. He also served as president and CEO of several divisions within Handy & Harmon Ltd. Prior to Handy & Harmon, Coates served as vice president of operations at Gerber Scientific and held several operating positions within the General Signal Corp.
