Montalvo, international specialists in web tension control, has named Richard Smart as its new electrical engineer, an appointment that expands the company’s highly skilled and experienced team of mechanical and electrical engineers. Smart’s primary responsibilities include new software development, product support and technical expertise in the field.

“Richard brings a fresh perspective to our engineering team,” says Montalvo director of engineering Chris Osgood. “He is a dynamic and capable engineer with a proven track record and will be a key asset in expanding the capability and functionality of our entire product line. Adding his talents to the Montalvo team will increase our ability to innovate, and set the stage for our next generation of products.”

Smart comes to Montalvo from Fairchild Semiconductor, where he worked as an electrical engineer. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Southern Maine.
