Jacques Leclair, the former president of Quebec-based St. Johns Packaging, passed away May 8, 2015.

Leclair is survived by his wife Jennifer, and their children Marc (Xuan) and Caroline (Jimmy Kalavritinos). He was a most devoted Grandpapa to Sarah and Simon Leclair-Sanz and Charles Leclair, and dear “Jacquapa” to Matthew and Liam Kalavritinos.

Leclair’s passion was in business. After graduating with an MBA from Hautes Études Commerciales, he joined the small paper products company in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu which his father René had acquired in 1954, helping lead what would become St. Johns Packaging into a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products. Leclair’s children joined the company business and his son Marc replaced him as president. He remained very involved, guiding and supporting the management team until his death.

Leclair’s life passions included family, his work, tennis, books, and history. According to his obituary, Leclair was a modest, optimistic person with a brilliant mind, who was usually found with a book in his hand and who was always happy to chat with everyone.
