New Era Converting Machinery, Inc. has hired Aurelian (Ray) Coca, a 25-year veteran in web converting, as its new project manager.

Coca holds a B.S. in petroleum industry science from the University of Ploiesti Romania, and, upon earning his degree, spent 25 years working with a systems integration company in the converting industry. During this period, he gained hands-on experience in the design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of various types of converting equipment.

Since 1997, Coca has been focused primarily on project management, furthering his experience with complex machine relocation and mechanical/electrical upgrades. These turnkey projects took place in North America, Europe and Asia, and he managed them from initiation to production trials to customer satisfaction.

Most recently, Coca has developed close relationships with electrical and mechanical contractors in Europe, the most notable being Siemens-Romania, and coordinated the manufacturing of controls systems overseas. He also assisted customers in performing risk analysis using ISO-13841 standards in order to achieve the highest levels of operator safety. He is currently a member of the Project Management Institute.

“Ray has the skill set and the experience that we needed for our project manager position,” says Paul Lembo, New Era VP. “His proven ability to manage complex, turnkey projects is going to be a valuable asset to our company.”
