SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association continues to take strides in promoting plastics recovery and use of recycled content by creating an annual recycling event, the Refocus Recycling Summit & Expo. The inaugural event will be held April 25-27, 2016, at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla.
“As leaders in the recycling space, SPI and its member companies are committed to manufacturing products that reduce environmental impact by increasing the use of recycled content and promoting better design of products that make them more recoverable at end of life,” SPI President and CEO William Carteaux says. “It’s our commitment as plastics manufacturers to promote sound recycling practices as economic and environmental solutions to the ubiquitous nature of our products.”
Working in tandem with its recycling committee, SPI and other stakeholders will develop sessions focused on relevant information that considers key challenges in manufacturing and design, addressing the supply chain, manufacturing, regulatory and labeling issues and corporate culture around sustainability trends. The Refocus Recycling Summit & Expo is expected to be a world class educational and networking event highlighted by an expansive exhibit hall.
“Refocus is truly an industry supported conference that’s already generated a broad range of interest across the supply chain, encompassing recyclers, brand owners, processors and equipment manufacturers,” says Carteaux, adding that the exhibit hall will include representation from all sectors of the plastics manufacturing industry.
