Cosmo Films is pleased to announce plans to invest $750,000 in upgrades and additions to its extrusion lines and slitting fleet at the company’s United States facility, located in Hagerstown, Md.

Cosmo Films, Ltd. North America announced these investments as a broad expansion of its U.S. operations. Included with these technological upgrades are daily shifts added at the plant to expand capacity and accommodate the increased volume.

“This investment underscores our company’s commitment to a strategic growth plan within the North American market, which has been a key driver of business since we entered in 2009,” says Chuck Thompson, sales director of the thermal films division, Cosmo Films North America. “They are aimed at adding capacity in the U.S. market for both existing and new products, as well as improving our quality going forward.”

The upgrades are expected to be complete by April 2015.

The company’s U.S. plant makes thermal lamination films, and has started marketing packaging and coated films for the label and food industry.

Cosmo Films has launched several new products recently, including top-coated metallized films for self-adhesive labels, high-barrier metallized films, films for storing frozen foods, new sand OPP, and other new thermal films.
