Atlas Converting North America Inc. will represent Atlas & Titan slitter rewinders at ICE USA 2015 Feb. 10-12 in Orlando, Fla., with information on the very latest developments in slitter rewinder technology.

The new Atlas CW Series and Titan SR9 Series slitter rewinders provide solutions for a wide range of flexible materials including plastic film, flexible packaging, labels, laminates and paper.  In 2014, Titan celebrated its 50th Anniversary as a global leader in slitter rewinder technology.

The main focus at ICE USA 2015 will be on the new generation Titan SR9 series secondary slitter rewinders which provide unsurpassed levels of slitting productivity and rewind reel quality in machine widths of 65 and 88 inches for high-volume production printers and converters. New features include reduced power consumption, faster set-up time and improved sustainability showing respect for the environment.  A unique linear tracking slitter section ensures a short and constant web length between the knives and rewind shafts to deliver the highest quality rewind reels with a maximum speed of 3,300 feet per minute.

William Cowan, Sales Manager for Atlas & Titan in North America will also present a technical paper as part of the AIMCAL sponsored Keynote Conference Presentations on Web Slitting during the ICE USA event at 10.30am on Thursday, 12th February.  The presentation will cover the efficiency of automatic knife positioning systems against manual systems by using a computer program to calculate differences in productivity.

In addition to the Atlas CW3600 and CW1040 Series slitter rewinders launched in 2012, the company has also recently introduced the CW5400 Series available in widths from 3.6 to 5.4 metres. The complete CW Series of more compact film slitting solutions now covers machine widths from 2.5 to 10.4 meters at speeds of up to 4,920 feet per minute. Major benefits of the new Atlas CW Series technology platform include higher efficiency, increased productivity and reliability, higher-quality rewind reels, reduced noise levels and more effective, operator-friendly control systems.

The Atlas CW Series has been designed to cope with the increasing speed of film production lines with faster acceleration and deceleration cycles.  Compared to a conventional primary film slitter running at 1,500. Producing rewind lengths of 8,000 meters, the Atlas CW Series has a faster rewind cycle, but at only 1,200 meters per minute.

This latest Atlas technology features wireless rewind arm positioning, automatic knife positioning and direct drive web path rollers ensuring optimum web tension for films as thin as 6 micron and up to 125 micron. Electrical cabinets are now fully integrated in to the machines to reduce the space required for installation with ‘under floor’ service channels no longer required. More than 60 of the new Atlas CW Series film slitters have now been sold to many film producers across the world.

Atlas & Titan continue to be a global leaders in the design and production of high performance slitter rewinders and these latest technologies set a new benchmark in the slitting and rewinding of plastic films and flexible packaging materials.

Comprehensive customer support is provided through a new service platform and a global network of operations based in Europe, North America (Charlotte, NC), Mexico, India, SE Asia and China.
