Comexi Group, specialist in machinery solutions for the flexible packaging conversion industry, has shown its facilities and its latest technological innovations to representatives of leading conversion companies from China. On May 12, the Catalan company held another open house, focusing on solutions that it can offer to respond to the industry challenges in Asia.
“Comexi is perceived in China as a recognized provider of global solutions, in which companies put their trust in to develop their projects in the field of flexible packaging," says Miquel Salvà, the company’s director of corporate market. "Our experience tells us that Chinese converters have to respond to them same needs as the ones in Europe, even with a higher quality standards. In addition, there is a clear trend towards sustainable conversion, so that solutions such as offset printing or solventless lamination have captured the interest of the market in recent years."
Innovations on Rotogravure Printing, Lamination and Slitting
Throughout the day, the attendees toured all areas of Comexi Group: the foundry, machining and assembly plants; the Manel Xifra Boada Technological Centre, the new MasJoals Mechatronic Unit plant and Inplacsa (company in which the Comexi CI8 Offset is installed). During the visit, the senior area manager of Asia, Yang Su, explained the latest developments in rotogravure printing (ComexACOM R2), holographic lamination (Comexi Nexus Futura) and the in-line laser cutting system (Comexi Proslit Cingular Laser). Some presentations were accompanied by a practical demonstration of the Comexi Flexo F2 MP, the Comexi Nexus SL2 and the Comexi Proslit S2 DT solutions.
The Manel Xifra Boada Technological Center was the epicenter of the day, both for its importance in the sector as the greatest exponent of knowledge and innovation, and for its complete machinery park. Its industrial lab has 13 machines. The attendees were very satisfied with the open house and highly appreciated the role that the Technological Center can have regarding the research in the sector.
