Amcor Flexibles was the proud recipient of a Silver award at the Flexible Packaging Association’s (FPA) 58th Annual Achievement Awards held on in Scottsdale, Ariz. The FPA is the leading trade organization for flexible packaging converters and suppliers. The Annual Achievement Awards honor packaging and converting organizations that demonstrate breakthrough technologies, printing techniques, package structures, environmental advantages and new end-uses.
“We are honored to be recognized for the third consecutive year as a winner of either a gold or silver award in Technical Innovation,” said Tom Cochran, Vice President and General Manager - Americas & Medical Europe, Amcor Flexibles Europe & Americas. “We are committed to investing in the products, processes and services that meet our customers’ unique needs,” he added.
Amcor Flexibles received the Silver Award in the ‘Technical Innovation’ category for Amcor’s StayClean, serving the pharmaceutical market. “We work in partnership with our customers to respond to their needs with solutions that deliver the highest standards of product integrity and safety,” says Art Castro, vice president of sales and marketing at Amcor Flexibles North America.
Amcor’s StayClean flexible overwrap was designed to achieve two ends often difficult to accomplish in the same package. The packaging material contains no components that might transfer to the product. This is especially important for pharmaceutical and medical products for patients susceptible to contaminants. StayClean is also able to seal at rapid speeds. Under the greatly restricted types of materials and processes that could be used, StayClean is both a remarkably clean and a very efficient package.
The goal of the FPA Annual Achievement Awards is to showcase the diverse uses for flexible packaging: 110 entries were received this year, 22 packages were honored with achievement awards.
