OEC Graphics, a multi-facility, full-service flexographic prepress provider, recently installed a Kodak Flexcel NX wide system, marking a significant milestone for Kodak with the 300th installation since the Flexcel NX system was launched just five years ago.
With a uniquely different technology approach to digital flexo platemaking, Kodak introduced the Flexcel NX system at drupa 2008—sparking a period of intense innovation in the flexo prepress industry. The Flexcel NX system has driven step-change in flexography, bringing new levels of efficiency, consistency and quality to flexo printing, and has been recognized with multiple industry technology awards.
“The Flexcel NX system has been on our radar for a very long time,” says Jeff Schloesser, president of OEC Graphics. “The performance of the system across the industry has been impressive and ultimately it was an easy decision for OEC to invest in this next level of superior plate production. Kodak’s full portfolio and recent transformation into a technology company with a strong focus on our industry makes it an excellent strategic partner for OEC Graphics.”
OEC Graphics services a wide variety of markets and will position its Flexcel NX plate offering as an option for all its clients to elevate print quality, reduce press downtime and ink consumption, and increase press speeds. As a company well known for innovation, OEC Graphics will use the technology to develop differentiated offerings for both its brand and printer clients.
“As a company we are proud of our technology, and humbled by the rapid industry adoption of Flexcel NX system,” says Kuty Paperny, marketing director at Flexo Packaging Solutions, Kodak. “None of this would be possible without strong customer relationships. We are delighted to enter into this partnership with OEC Graphics as we celebrate this important milestone.”
