Material engineers, scientists and chemists who use rheometry can now analyze the molecular structure of rapidly changing materials such as UV-curing and superglue materials. Thermo Fisher Scientific now offers a Mercury telluride cadmium (MTC) infrared detector for the popular Rheonaut module, the world’s first ready-to-use molecular rheology solution. The Rheonaut module pairs rheological analysis from the Thermo Scientific Haake Mars rheometer with infrared spectroscopy, enabling users to simultaneously collect and analyze spectroscopic and rheological information from the same sample. Available on infrared spectrometers for many years, the MTC detector offers four to five times faster spectra collection and a 10- to 100-fold improvement in signal-to-noise ratio compared to deuterated triglycine sulfate detectors.
