Frank Kelly, business manager for Zip-Pak, a division of Illinois Tool Works Inc., has been announced as a featured speaker for a presentation on the disruptive innovation of Zipbox at the Global Pouch Forum June 12–14, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Zipbox is being co-developed by Zip-Pak and T.H.E.M., a leader in innovative packaging solutions. The unique format combines the consumer-preferred attributes of flexible and rigid packaging into a novel combination of materials that is both value adding and consumer-intuitive. It provides an ideal solution to the long-standing consumer need for easily resealing a carton and maintaining product freshness after opening.
The 2013 Global Pouch Forum, now in its 15th year, attracts an audience of more than 400 attendees and continues to grow each year. It is a key gathering place for top packaging professionals involved in pouch production and the film, materials, closures, services and equipment that this fast-growing packaging segment demands.
Kelly’s presentation will feature an overview of Zipbox technology, scalability and the manufacturing process, and consumer research findings. Also included will be a report on the initial consumer application, Plantation Brand Sugar. It will incorporate a production and supply chain overview, initial marketplace results and comparative economics.
“Zipbox is a turn-key solution. Best of all, it’s a packaging innovation of tomorrow that’s ready to go to market today.” Kelly offers. “I’m really looking forward to highlighting its outstanding potential with all those in attendance at the conference.”
