For the 50th anniversary of the German Packaging Award, visitors to the website packagingaward.de are taken on a journey through the best packaging solutions of the last decades. Here, packaging is portrayed as a part of our cultural history, reflecting habits, trends and needs. Whilst browsing the innovations, visitors can select their favorites and participate in our prize draw.

"Unlike any other competition, the German Packaging Award focuses on the packaging theme. It is therefore of great importance for innovation within the whole industry. Those wishing to take part and help shape the future of packaging should register today," says Burkhard Lingenberg, director of the German Packaging Institute (dvi) and chairman of the advisory board of the German Packaging Award.

The German Packaging Award 2013 is awarded in five categories and covers all materials and industries. Under the patronage of the Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, an independent jury will determine the winners, who are then awarded certificate, seal and trophy at a gala ceremony on 23rd September 2013. All companies, organizations and individuals from home and abroad are invited to participate. Innovative materials, products, concepts and prototypes from the entire packaging world are expected.

"The German Packaging Award stands for outstanding achievements and innovations in packaging and each year, puts the potential and creativity of the industry to the test once again." states Dr. Philip Rösler, federal minister of economics and technology.
