NOVA Chemicals Inc. has assumed most sales and marketing functions in the Americas for Bayport Polymers LLC. With the full engagement of NOVA Chemicals’ dedicated account and technical service teams, Bayport Polymers’ customers will now benefit from the exceptional customer experience that NOVA Chemicals is known for in the industry.
John Thayer, senior vice president, polyethylene, NOVA Chemicals, believes the long presence and experience NOVA Chemicals has in North American markets are key advantages in assuming the sales and marketing representative role for Bayport Polymers.
“Our polyethylene business has an established sales and marketing infrastructure that can effectively reach the customers and markets Bayport Polymers is targeting, now and into the future,” he says. “We also serve many of the same markets, so we already have expertise in their customers’ processes and end-use applications. Our sales and marketing teams are excited to build on the tremendous work that Bayport Polymers is doing.”
Adds Diane Chamberlaini, Bayport Polymers president: “NOVA Chemicals is well-regarded for its ability to innovate, solve customer problems and help its customers bring new applications to market. They have a talented team and the right expertise, and they know how to build on the customer relationships previously established. This arrangement will be a great complement to the work of our own dedicated business and operations teams who produce the polyethylene products NOVA Chemicals will be selling.”
Bayport Polymers currently operates a polyethylene facility in Pasadena, Texas, which produces a variety of polyethylene products, including Lumicene metallocene grades for flexible film and rotational molding applications, blow molding, medical and construction applications, and other end-use products.
