The Sigma Plastics Group and King Pac Industrial have announced the formation of a joint venture to manufacture stretch film products in Bangkok, Thailand. The name of the new manufacturing division will be "Sigma Stretch Film of Asia" with production expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2019 in a purpose built 100,000-square-foot facility on 12 acres of land outside of Bangkok.

The facility will ultimately have a capacity of 80 million pounds per year, and will service the local, South East Asia and Australian markets with high quality cast stretch films.

Paiboon Julasakrisakul (PJ), vice president of King Pac, will serve as one of the Managing Directors of Sigma Stretch Film.

"King Pac has established a JV with the world's largest privately owned flexible packaging manufacturer to service the growing stretch film demand in this area of the world due to the rapid expansion in the industrial sector,” he says.

Mark Teo, president and COO of The Sigma Plastics Group, will serve as the other managing director of the new venture.

"We have long wanted to expand our operations outside of North America and there is no better place to do this than this still rapidly expanding part of the world,” he added. “To do this right, we knew we needed the right partners, and we have them in King Pac andthe Julasaksrisakul family.”
