Quantum Design, Inc. of Loves Park, Illinois, has acquired CTC International Inc. of West Caldwell, New Jersey. CTC will join KTI, a fellow converting equipment manufacturer, in the Quantum Design family of products.
Through its experience working with KTI, Quantum Design already has a grasp on the web handling and converting equipment industry and will be able to shed new light on the CTC product line. Like KTI, CTC offers a line of turret rewinders, automatic splicers, waste matrix winders and unwind/rewind stands to industries such as packaging, tag and label, printing, film and more.
Since acquiring KTI in 2014, Quantum Design owners Danny Pearse and David Culvey have worked with the KTI team to improve its product line by creating an R&D team, offering new products, product improvements, better service and improving the overall company culture. They are excited to jump right into doing the same for the CTC product line.
“This acquisition will bring not only a whole new customer base to our company, but also a new range of products and services to our existing customer base,” Pearse says. “We look forward to offering new and current customers for both CTC and KTI a product solution and level of service they may not have experienced before.”
Quantum Design is relocating CTC’s assets and data to its South Beloit location, home to KTI’s manufacturing facility. This process is expected to be complete by Aug. 17 to support existing CTC customers.
Launched in 1986 as a controls engineering firm, Quantum Design has grown over the years to accommodate many manufacturing industries, diversified its automation services and has purchased several additional product lines: Centro-Metalcut, Quantum Roll Sheeters and KTI.
