Following Mark Andy’s acquisition of Presstek, both companies will host an open house June 6-8 at Presstek’s headquarters in London.
The event will consist of morning, afternoon and evening sessions repeated each of the three days. Programming for all time slots will address advancements catered to printers and converters across the industry spectrum highlighting productivity gains. The attendee pool is expected to consist of commercial printers interested in expanding their offset business into labels and label converters looking to enter the digital production space.
Additionally, as many European print shops adopt both offset and flexographic technologies, the event provides those in attendance an opportunity to learn how to evolve both production processes into the future to gain a larger share of wallet for existing customers.
Live demonstrations of Mark Andy Digital One label press and Presstek 34DI digital offset press with ECO-UV will be conducted. Digital One and ECO-UV equipped DI are proven technologies that reduce turnaround time, produce high-quality work and increase efficiency for their owners.
Both solutions refinforce Mark Andy’s core belief that it’s not about the technology, but the way to be most profitable and meet customer needs. This will be brought to life through real-time runs of commercial print work on Digital One and prime labels on the DI press, bending the norms of what each technology can support.
The entry-level digital hybrid press, Mark Andy Digital One, was designed for profitable micro- to short-run labels. The affordable solution is configured with a CMYK dry-toner digital engine, directly followed by a flexo print station. The multi-purpose flexo deck supports PMS spot colors, various varnishes, cold foil adhesive or laminating to meet any label embellishment need. As a single pass hybrid unit, it maintains a die cutting station and rewind delivering ready-to-ship product on a single machine.
The Presstek 34DI with the new ECO-UV system will be demonstrated at each session as well. The ECO-UV add-on system instantly dries sheets at delivery so a second side can be run immediately run or they can head straight to finishing. Eliminating drying time bottlenecks has proven to reduce downtime and make runs more efficient. The new in-line curing system is available as a retrofit to any existing DI press.
“We’re incredibly excited to host this event to further our relationship with the team at Presstek as well as the converters and commercial printers in southern England,” said Tom Cavalco, managing director, Mark Andy Europe.
Speaking for the Presstek side of the business, Ian Pollock, director, Presstek EAMER, concludes: “We are excited to welcome printers and converters from all over the UK to see two truly profitable digital printing solutions.”
