Schur Flexibles Group has acquired Cats-Hansel from the Clondalkin Group, a move that increases Schur’s status as a maker of premium packaging in the confectionary and tea markets.

Schur assumes control of three sites with the deal: Cats Flexible Packaging (Rotterdam, The Netherlands), Hansel Flexible Packaging (Freital, Germany) and Nimax B.V. (Elst, The Netherlands). About 135 employees work throughout the three locations.

“These companies fit perfectly into our growth strategy. In parallel, we are investing in our plant network to build up our highly specialized production locations further and thus creating additional added value for our customers,” says Michael Schernthaner, managing director, Schur Flexibles Group.

The intended transaction is subject to internal and external approvals, including the approval by the relevant competition authorities.
