Precision Color Graphics (PCG) and its subsidiary, Specialty Packaging Technologies (SPT), have added new capabilities and services to better serve their customers.

On the prepress side, PCG has recently upgraded and completed integration of GMG color management proofing software at its Franklin, Wisconsin, headquarters. This upgrade will provide more accurate proofing and help customers maintain color consistency. On the pouch converting side, SPT in Elgin, Illinois, has added new large-format pouch converting, ultrasonic zipper crush on all pouch lines, and laser scoring for easy-open flat or standup pouches.

“The new equipment additions are a direct result of customer feedback and industry trends,” says CEO John Goeden. “Our customers are talking, and we’re listening. We strongly believe in making it easy for our customers to do business with PCG and SPT, and these additions along with our experienced customer service support will help us to be more of a full-service provider.”

Additional new equipment special features include:

  • Wide format pouch converting able to handle 60 inch webs for large-side and bottom-gusset pouches. This line is also equipped to run large-volume 2-up bottom-gusset, or 2-up three-side seal pouches for cost efficiency.
  • Special secondary unwind for front-back registration for dissimilar substrates or to extend press width.
  • A new line to insert bottom gussets.
