FPA recently published its Bi-Annual Online Conversation Monitoring Report, which is prepared for FPA by G&S Business Communications.
As part of FPA’s ongoing advocacy and communications programs, FPA monitors social media and online news conversations related to packaging and flexible packaging. Online coverage of industry topics, while not all-inclusive, is one tool to anticipate pending opportunities and challenges for the industry.
During the first half of 2017, there were roughly 35,400 mentions of “flexible packaging” that appeared in online news and social media conversations. Of those, there were no unusual or particularly significant events. The mentions were focused on market growth speculation, brand acquisitions, and earnings, as well as general industry conversations about flexible packaging. Sustainability and recycling/end-of-life topics were a small portion (eight percent) of the total coverage.
